With the Air Jordan 14 Retro “Ferrari,” Tinker Hatfield took notes from one of Michael Jordan’s own cars, the legendary Ferrari 550 Maranello. Moving away from the seamless overlay of the original, the 2014 alternate sample is more loosely modeled after the vehicle’s silhouette with detailed stitching that resembles the style of a car seat and a ribbed upper. The same ribbing pattern was also used on the Candy Canes and the Last Shot 14s.

Wrapped in a shaggy red suede, the LKS features carbon fiber detailing along the sole of the sneaker in a glossy and rubberized semi-metallic, a variance from the printed carbon of the original.

Both versions of the shoe include a yellow and black Jumpman badge, though the alternate has a chrome shank plate, which was ultimately swapped out for a darker gray shade.
